Why Tier-2 is where the exam is won

Tier-1 only screens you in. Your rank is decided almost entirely in Tier-2, where Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning carry the heaviest weight. Most aspirants under-invest here because they exhaust themselves clearing Tier-1.

The single biggest lever is accuracy under time pressure. With 1 mark deducted per wrong answer in the objective papers, blind guessing is expensive — a disciplined attempt strategy routinely beats raw speed.

The 60-day split

Spend the first three weeks rebuilding the high-weightage Maths chapters — arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data interpretation — then shift to full-length sectional mocks every alternate day. Reserve the final fortnight entirely for timed mocks and error-log revision.

What to skip

Do not chase every obscure topic. Knowing what to leave is half the strategy: low-yield, high-effort areas can be parked once your core is solid.
