Government targets ₹10 lakh crore in loans for SHGs

Government loan targets over the next five years are ₹10 lakh crore for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and ₹1 lakh crore for individual women members. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed SHG-bank linkages and enterprise financing under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) in Mumbai. The meeting directed a helpline for SHG members facing bank-loan difficulties. The Prime Minister reiterated a commitment to increase Lakhpati Didis from three crore to six crore.
