10. Government targets ₹10 lakh crore in loans for SHGs
Government loan targets over the next five years are ₹10 lakh crore for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and ₹1 lakh crore for individual women members. The Government approved the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 on 5 May 2026. It aims to facilitate additional credit flow of up to ₹2.55 lakh crore. It covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSME business borrowers and scheduled passenger airline companies. The scheme is operational until 31 March 2027, or until guarantees amounting to ₹2.55 lakh crore are issued, whichever is earlier.
