Prime Minister cites India's 7.8 percent quarterly growth

The Prime Minister cited India's 7.8 percent quarterly growth and said a Japanese credit rating agency had upgraded India's rating in the same period. In the speech, published by PIB on 05 SEP 2026, he said electricity production increased by 9 percent and vehicle sales grew by more than 20 percent between April and June. He added, "Growth in steel and cement consumption increased by 8 percent."

JCBC bred 35 vulture chicks during 2025–26

Jatayu Conservation Breeding Centre (JCBC), Pinjore, housed 356 vultures and successfully bred 35 chicks during 2025–26. The centre breeds White-rumped, Long-billed and Slender-billed Vultures for conservation. The Union Minister visited the facility, reviewed a presentation on the centre and interacted with officials involved in vulture conservation.

Bhagwat Prasad Makwana appointed Chairperson of NCSK

Bhagwat Prasad Makwana has been appointed as Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK), with Kaishab Bihari appointed as Vice-Chairperson. The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, made the appointments. Manoj Kumar Balmiki, Sushma Gaudiyal and Ravi Ramu Kalose have been appointed as Members of the Commission. Sushma Gaudiyal is a returning Member of the NCSK.
