The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) ordered an inquiry into alleged denial of reservation in recruitment for 1,013 Lecturer posts in the Punjab Education Department. Acting under Article 338 of the Constitution of India, it directed the Chief Secretary to submit facts, action taken and related records within seven days of receiving the notice.
CSS Shield has been formalised to provide collective financial support to bereaved families of Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officers. Under the initiative, the CSS Forum seeks to provide at least ₹15 lakh to a bereaved family. The Forum said CSS officers have collectively contributed around ₹1.30 crore since 2020 towards assistance for families of approximately 65–70 deceased officers. Dr. Jitendra Singh welcomed the initiative.

The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare conducted the campaign for central government pensioners. It began on 7th July, 2026, had a preparatory phase and an execution phase, and concluded on 31st August, 2026.
Bhagwat Prasad Makwana has been appointed as Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK), with Kaishab Bihari appointed as Vice-Chairperson. The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, made the appointments. Manoj Kumar Balmiki, Sushma Gaudiyal and Ravi Ramu Kalose have been appointed as Members of the Commission. Sushma Gaudiyal is a returning Member of the NCSK.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw held a safety review at Rail Bhawan on 03 September 2026. The meeting directed strict action against poor-quality supplies and permanent blacklisting of suppliers in cases of deliberate negligence. Vaishnaw also called for maintenance and replacement of Overhead Equipment (OHE) components that have completed their prescribed service life, and improved workshop maintenance focusing on electrical circuits and fire safety wiring in coaches.

The Government approved the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 on 5 May 2026. It aims to facilitate additional credit flow of up to ₹2.55 lakh crore. It covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSME business borrowers and scheduled passenger airline companies. The scheme is operational until 31 March 2027, or until guarantees amounting to ₹2.55 lakh crore are issued, whichever is earlier.

The Roadmap for Integrated Tribal Development Agencies/Projects (ITDAs/ITDPs) and ITDA Operational Guidelines were shared with states and ministries. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and State authorities rescued over 3,800 children during the Pan-India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign, held from 12 June to 31 August 2026. Talcher Fertilisers Limited and NTPC Limited have applied for the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects, the Ministry of Coal clarified on 05 SEP 2026. The Union Cabinet approved the scheme on 13 May 2026 with a total financial outlay of ₹37,500 crore. It aims to convert domestic coal and lignite into higher-value products, including syngas, methanol, ammonia and urea.
VISHWAS, 2026, launched by the Government of India, lets employers settle long-pending disputes through reduced penalties. Penalties per month are 0.25% for delays up to 2 months, 0.50% for 2 to 4 months and 1% beyond 4 months. The one-time scheme remains open until 28 December 2026.

The Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH) on Affordable Healthcare at IIT Kharagpur has entered its sustainable phase. Established in 2019 under the CRTDH Scheme of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, it meets operational costs through user fees, industry sponsorships and translational partnerships.
