National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and State authorities rescued over 3,800 children during the Pan-India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign, held from 12 June to 31 August 2026. The campaign targeted children engaged in child labour and those vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. Over 575 FIRs were registered during the campaign.

Talcher Fertilisers Limited and NTPC Limited have applied for the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects, the Ministry of Coal clarified on 05 SEP 2026. The Union Cabinet approved the scheme on 13 May 2026 with a total financial outlay of ₹37,500 crore. The Government approved the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 on 5 May 2026. It aims to facilitate additional credit flow of up to ₹2.55 lakh crore. It covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSME business borrowers and scheduled passenger airline companies. The scheme is operational until 31 March 2027, or until guarantees amounting to ₹2.55 lakh crore are issued, whichever is earlier.
The Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH) on Affordable Healthcare at IIT Kharagpur has entered its sustainable phase. PIB released a review of DDU-GKY implementation progress on 04 AUG 2026. Since the scheme's launch in 2014-15, 18.45 lakh rural poor have been trained and 12.35 lakh youth have been provided paid employment across various sectors of the economy. A review meeting on DDU-GKY implementation was held on 04.08.2026 under the chairmanship of State Minister Pemmassani Chandrasekhar, who reviewed the progress of DDU-GKY 2.0 and key digital reforms.
