The Government approved the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 on 5 May 2026. It aims to facilitate additional credit flow of up to ₹2.55 lakh crore. It covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSME business borrowers and scheduled passenger airline companies. The scheme is operational until 31 March 2027, or until guarantees amounting to ₹2.55 lakh crore are issued, whichever is earlier.

Talcher Fertilisers Limited and NTPC Limited have applied for the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects, the Ministry of Coal clarified on 05 SEP 2026. The Union Cabinet approved the scheme on 13 May 2026 with a total financial outlay of ₹37,500 crore. It aims to convert domestic coal and lignite into higher-value products, including syngas, methanol, ammonia and urea.
